A girl aged 8 was seriously wounded when the military regime launched a 60 mm artillery shell into In Nat village, Kyauk Gyi Township, Nyaung Lay Pin District, the Karen National Union (KNU) said.
The regime’s 609th Light Infantry Division fired a 60 mm artillery shell in front of the In Nat Monastery on the evening of May 10.
Ma Htet Htet San, an eight-year-old girl from the village, was gravely injured by an artillery shell that punctured her chest, according to the KNU.
Air attacks and frequent heavy artillery fire in Karen National Union (KNU)-controlled regions have resulted in civilian fatalities.
