Kyaikmaraw, June (22)
The military council sealed off the home of Daw Khin Myo Myint, the State Hluttaw representative of the National League for Democracy Party (NLD) in Mon State’s Kyaikmaraw Township, locals told Than Lwin Times.
On the evening of June 20, the junta troops, police, and administrative officials cordoned off Daw Khin Myo Myint’s home at No.3 Banyar Nwet Street, Shin Saw Pu Ward, Kyaikmaraw.
Daw Khin Myo Myint, who has been charged with the Anti-Terrorism Act by the military council, is on the run, and her home has been sealed off.
After the military coup, Daw Khin Myo Myint was on the run because she was charged with Section 505(a) for participating in protests, and later the military council subsequently filed a case against her under the Terrorist Act.
Than Lwin Times could not so far reach NLD MP Daw Khin Myo Myint for comments on the seizure of her house.
Daw Khin Myo Myint is also a State Hluttaw representative of the NLD party, which won both the 2015 and 2020 general elections.
According to the records of the National League for Democracy Party (NLD) released on June 13, the homes and properties of 333 NLD members and parliamentarians have been seized over the past two years since the military coup.
