The official from Thaton People’s Defense Force told the Than Lwin Times that a military convoy struck the landmines twice on the same day in Mon State’s Kyaikto Township on July 26.

The combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) attacked a Junta convoy of two vehicles heading to Kyaikto from Waw Township at about 7 am on July 26 near Ingabo village.

A junta car was hit by the landmines, and it is not yet known if there were any casualties.

In addition, a seven-vehicle military convoy coming from Belin Township to Kyaikto Township was again attacked with mines near Motepalin village on July 26 at around 11:00 in the afternoon.

During the attack, a military car was damaged, and the details of the casualties are not yet known, the Thaton PDF said.

On Yangon-Mawlamyine road in Kyaikto Township, military council vehicles have been targeted with mines at least 15 times every month since the military coup.
