At least 16 junta soldiers, including two officers, have been killed in three days of fighting that broke out between the two rivals from June 26 to 28, according to the office of the deputy commander in No. 3 Southern Command.

Since June 26, fighting has erupted between the combined force of the KNLA/PDF and 100-strong regime troops who have advanced into Aung Thar Yar village in Ye.

Six soldiers were killed and two others were seriously injured during the two battles that took place near Payal Thar village between Aung Tha Yar and Kanin Kamaw villages in Ye, said the statement.

Meanwhile, a military officer was killed and another was injured in a battle near Payal Thar village in the morning of June 27.

Subsequently, around 12, another battle broke out between the revolutionary group and the Light Infantry Battalion 61 between San Pya and Hnin Son villages in Ye, killing seven soldiers, including battalion commander Win Oo, and the investigation is still ongoing.

On the morning of June 28, joint forces attacked a patrol car near Kalawgyi village, and deaths and injuries are still being investigated.

As the revolutionary groups are conducting operations to control Mawlamyine-Ye – Dawei No. 8 Pyidaungsu Road, travelers are warned to strictly follow the orders.
