Salingyi, 26 August

Local resistance forces arrested 14 pro-junta military members on 24 August morning on their way to a China-backed copper mine in Salingyi township, Sagaing region, for their services, according to the report of Union Liberation Front (ULF).

The Company (1) of Alpha Special Force of Alpha Column and the Company (3) of Chinadwin Galone Yarzar Guerilla Defense force arrested their militia members who were trained at the Southwestern Command of military council, based in Tharpaung township, Ayeyawady region.

The ULF has transferred them to township people’s liberation organization for further legal action.

The militia members said during investigation that they will have to get more trainings at the company.

China and the military-owned  enterprise are confiscating public lands with the support of junta regime, and  locals are protesting against them.
