A policeman from security force at Chinese mining firm Wanbao in Salingyi township, Sagaing region, defected to local resistance force Thamankya Company (3) of Battalion 16 in Yinmabin District, with two guns.
The Battalion 16 has presented cash award K5 million to him, and provided him shelter.
NUG stated that more soldiers and police have defected their forces as they dislike dictatorship acts of their forces.
