Yebyu, 1 September
The attack on regime troops stationed near a standing Buddha statue in Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township killed three military personnel and injured four others, reported Dawei Defense Team (DTT).
The allied resistance force attacked the junta checkpoint, where around 10 soldiers and policemen were stationed.
According to the statement, the joint forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties after a 15-minute exchange of fire.
The spokesperson for DDT told Than Lwin Times that the military council checkpoint was attacked for arresting travelers and extorting money.
The attack was carried out by the 3rd Battalion of DDT, the 1st Battalion of Dawei District, the 4th Battalion of Dawei Guerrilla Revolutionary Force (DGRF), the Air Force (Yebyu PDF), the Tavoy People Liberation Force (TPLF), and the Red Dragon Guerrilla Force.
According to local sources, on 19 August, four residents were injured when regime forces at the checkpoint opened fire on the neighborhood, and one of them, Ye Phyu resident Daw Thwe Thwe Win, died from a gunshot wound.
