All villagers fleeing due to military offensive in Palaw

The junta troops advanced into the Jinggar village, Nan Taung village tract in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw Township since the morning of June 8, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The military council, which has a force of 100 troops, is currently stationed in Jinggar and Palawkone villages, which is a stronghold of Pyu Saw Htee group, and is carrying out heavy artillery fire on the surrounding area.

Residents in Jinggar and nearby villages are fleeing to nearby forests and shelters for fear of clashes, according to a local resident.

On the other hand, the junta army is conducting aerial reconnaissance near Jinggar village.

Palaw Township’s Jinggar village is one of the areas controlled by KNU Brigade 4, and there are frequent clashes between the junta army and the People’s Defense Forces in the vicinity of the village.

In Palaw Township, fighting between military personnel and the People’s Defense Forces has forced almost 1,000 people to flee their homes, and villagers have been unable to return home.
