Junta’s mortar shells destroy two houses, forcing 300 locals to flee

The junta indiscriminately opened fire into Chaunghnakhwa village in Mon State’s Kyaikmaraw Township, destroying two houses and forcing 300 villagers to flee their homes.

The regime troops stationed at Chaunghnakhwa police station and bridge launched mortar shells all night from 6 pm on January 5 to 6 am on January 6.

The mortar shell fired by the junta troops exploded in Chaunghnakhwa village, destroying two houses.

The junta’s mortar shelling has forced more than 300 villagers from the villages of Chaunghnakhwa, Thayatkon, and Kawt Sat to flee.

Furthermore, on January 6, the junta launched an aerial attack on a rubber farm near Ngapuinn village in Kyaikmaraw, but no one was injured.
