The regime forces have again carried out aerial bombing in the Mekanei area of KNU Brigade 6 where fierce fighting has been going on, according to the ground information.

Fighting continues to escalate between the junta and aligned-BGF,and KNLA joint forces near Mekanei village in Myawaddy under KNU Brigade 6, with the junta using airstrikes and multiple rocket launcher systems.

On April 20, as the fighting between the two sides intensified, at around 1:00 p.m., the military council continued to carry out aerial bombardments, and no casualties or injuries have been reported recently.

From April 13 to April 20, fighting between the regime troops and aligned-BGF, and the KNLA joint forces Force took place near the town of Myawaddy, resulting in many deaths on the junta side , and the resistance forces were able to seize a large amount of weapons and ammunition.

In the past two days, 24 junta troops and two revolutionary comrades were killed in the fierce fighting, as reported in the Cobra column on April 19.

Heavy fighting in the Mekanei area has destroyed many houses in the village, and thousands of local residents have fled to safety, according to Karen social organizations.
