Tanintharyi, April (28)

The ambush attack on military convoy near Tamokechone village in Tanintharyi Township on April 27 may have resulted in casualties, sources from Tanintharyi PDFs told Than Lwin Times.

Yesterday, about 2:00 p.m., a combined force of PDFs ambushed a five-vehicle military convoy carrying more than 100 personnel as it drove towards Tanintharyi from Myeik Township.

After the two sides exchanged fire for nearly half an hour, the resistance forces retreated, and the military council’s convoy continued to its destination.

At least three junta troops may have been killed in an ambush on a military convoy, but the opposition fighters were able to escape unharmed.

The ambushed military convoy arbitrarily opened fire along the way, the locals said.

On April 8, the junta convoy leaving Myeik for Bokepyin Township was ambushed near Chaung Nyiko village in Tanintharyi, reportedly injuring five soldiers.
