Thaton, 9 September
A married couple from Theinkon Ward in Thaton Township, Mon State, were arrested by the regime forces following the behest of pro-junta lobbyists on Telegram channels, sources close to the matter told Than Lwin Times.
On 6 September, soldiers and police force arrested 31-year-old Ko Min Zeyar Cho and 34-year-old Ma Han Kyaw Thet at their home in Theinkon Ward.
Junta lobbyists urged the military regime to arrest Ma Han Kyaw Thet, who commented on NUG supporter Pencilo’s post, alleging she was supporting the NLD party.
The couple were sent to an interrogation center and could not be reached by family members as of September 8.
The detained couple owns a Toy and Stationery Shop named Lin Latt in Thaton Market.
The couple was accused of spying on army and police family members and sending information to the People’s Defense Force (PDFs).
