Nay Pyi Taw, 6 December

The junta chief of military council, which has been defeated in nationwide conflict accompanied by Operation 1027 of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, said at a meeting held on December 4 that the armed forces should resolve the issues through political means.

The junta chief made this statement after military council lost at least 18 towns and hundreds of military bases and outposts due to the attacks of the revolutionary forces across the country, and the entire battalion surrendered. If the armed forces continue to be stupid, only the people will suffer the consequences, so they need to solve it through political means, said General Min Aung Hlaing covering up the brutality of the army.

U Than Soe Naing, a political analyst, told Than Lwin Times, “The military leader’s request for a political solution is an attempt to find a way out of the crisis, and the people should not follow that wrong path. All of Myanmar’s current crises and problems stem from the Chairman of the Military Council, Min Aung Hlaing, and his followers’ acts of violence, such as illegal killings and attacks. Now is the time for everyone to rally behind the Spring Revolution so that all members of the Military Council, including him, can face trial before the People’s Court.”

Junta cheif added that they stand under the three main national causes and the 2008 Constitution, and that the democratic and federal-based union system that the Myanmar military is pursuing all the elements demanded by the armed groups.

Veteran lawyer U Gyi Myint told Than Lwin Times that the junta chief wanted to hide his defeat and that it was impossible to discuss under the 2008 Constitution.

During the military council meeting, the junta leader blamed the Rakhine Army (AA) for the instability in Rakhine State and the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) for the destruction of residential buildings in Loikkaw, Karenni State without mentioning airstrikes.

The attacks of the military regime across the country killed more than 4,000 civilians, according to the Assisstance Association for the Political Prisoners (AAPP).

According to a September 29 report by ISP-Myanmar, a research group, more than 86,000 homes and buildings were burned and destroyed due to arson attacks of the regime troops and militias.

On the other hand, the military council, which has suffered heavy losses as a result of the revolutionary forces’ attack, has become weak enough to accept the deserters back.
