A military column heading to an area between Shan and Kayah states for logistic support to frontline military operation was attacked by a local resistance force on 19 February.
The Karenni Army arrested a total of five soldiers, including the company commander, according to the report.
The joint forces of local guerrilla groups KA and KNDF ambushed a military column with about 30 soldiers of No.54 Infantry Division of junta regime between Hwemarkaw and Hwekhunmaung villages.
After the clashes, 10 MA category guns and ammunition were confiscated, and the six bodies of soldiers were found there.
The attack happed when military forces were en route to the border area, code BP-12, to supply foods and ammunition to their troops.
Moreover, a military column was ambushed as they passed through the controlled area of Southern Shan State (SSS), which is a pro-junta militia signed ceasefire agreement with the military in 1994.
The junta troops are trying to use this area for supply route to their frontline forces.
Fighting between the military and the resistance forces also took place on 18 February, killing 3 soldiers in the incident, according to the report of Karenni Army.
