The 2022 Mon National Conference, which was hosted by the New Mon Stat Party, decided to draft the Federal Union Principle and the Yamanya Mon State Constitution within six months.

The MSICC said that it will oppose it if the Ramanya Mon State Constitution deviates from the Federal Democratic Charter and is drafted under the 2008 Constitution.
“We do not accept the 2008 Constitution at all. If it was drafted under the 2008 constitution, we would have to reject it. We have to work in cooperation with relevant groups that can object to it, “said Mi Suta Jo, joint-secretary (2) of MSICC.
The Than Lwin Times tried to reach out to the spokesperson of the New Mon State Party, who is a member in drafting the Yamanya Mon State Constitution, for comment regarding the MSICC’s statement, but he didn’t respond.
