The five soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members were killed and one other injured in a clash Lethit village in Tanintharyi, according to Tanintharyi PDF.
On September 4, around 5 pm, a combined team of Taninthari Guerrilla Force and Myeik District’s PDF Battalion 2 clashed with the junta and its allied Pyu Saw Htee which advanced towards Lethit village.
Two soldiers and three Pyu Sawe Htee militia were killed and one soldier was wounded in a four-hour long battle.
The fighting has forced all the villagers to flee, and most of the locals are hiding in nearby jungles and shelters.
The junta army remained stationed in the Lethit village after the conflict and kept firing indiscriminately with heavy weapons.
Due to conflict between the junta and resistance forces since the military takeover, thousands of locals in Tanintharyi Township have fled and are unable to return to their homes.
