The officials of the local People’s Defense Forces told Than Lwin Times that five junta forces were killed and three others were injured in the two-day battle that took place near Banglaw village in the suburban village tract of Tanintharyi Township.
A combined force of Myeik Battalion 2, the Southern Warriors Defence Force (SWDF), and a non-aligned guerrilla group clashed with 100-strength soldiers who invaded Banlaw village.
The regime forces, which suffered a lot during the two-day battle from September 28 to 29, kept firing artillery shells into Banglaw village, according to an official of the non-aligned guerrilla group.
As a result of the fighting between the two sides, more than 400 residents of Banglaw, Bawgadi and other five villages have fled to nearby relatives’ homes and safe places.
Also, on September 29, members of the Military Council and its allied Pyu Saw Htee who were collecting money in Kyauk Maat village, Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, were ambushed, killing two and injuring two others.
