Among the shootings that took place in September, 16 people, including Brigadier General, were killed and 27 were wounded in Yangon, according to the data compiled by Than Lwin Times.
According to a resident of Yangon, the military council has increased security forces in various townships as a result of these shootings and explosions, with blocking and questioning people, and extorting money.
There were 14 shootings in Yangon’s South Dagon, North Dagon, Twantae, Pazundaugn, Shwe Pyi Thar, Tharketa, Dala, Mayangon, Hlaing and Pabedan Township, killing 15 people and injuring four others.
Brigadier General (Retd.), Captain (Retd.), Lance Corporal, ward administrator, six 100-household administrators, and five alleged informants were among the dead, and four people were injured, including office staff from the administration office.
Similarly, bomb blasts occurred in Hlaing, Shwe Pyi Thar, South Okkalapa, Hlaingtharya, Tamwe, Thonkhwa, North Okkalapa, Tharketa, Sanchaung, Kamayut, Mayangon, and Ahlon Townships, killing one person and injuring 23.
A man was killed in a bomb explosion at the corner of Garuna Road and Anorma Road in Ward 13 of South Okkalapa Township on September 6 while administrative offices, electricity offices, and security forces in downtown were hit by bombs.
