The regime’s police captain was killed in an attack on junta checkpoint near Shwe Than Lwin old toll gate at Doutyat village in Mon State’s Belin Township, the sources told Than Lwin Times.
The military checkpoint was attacked by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) joint forces around 9 pm on October 17.
There was a 30-minute exchange of fire there, leaving police captain Aung Myint Sein shot dead.
At noon on October 18, the military council brought the deceased police captain’s body to the Beilin Police Station from the Beilin Hospital.
On October 16, a 14-convoy struck a landmine near Daukyat village in Belin, killing at least 10 military personnel.
The military council’s police stations, checkpoints, and convoys have all frequently been targeted in Belin Township since the military coup, and the regime forces have suffered heavy losses.
