Tanintharyi, November (26)

The fighting has been going on in Tanintharyi Township’s Lethit village since the morning of November 25, forcing all the villagers to flee, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The People Defense Force (PDF) have clashed with the 100- strong regime forces that advanced towards Lethit village starting 8 am yesterday.

As a result of the fighting, the 400-household village of Lethit’s residents have fled to the homes of their relatives and sought refuge.

The fighting in Lethit village continued until the evening, and the details of the casualties and injuries on both sides are not yet known.

Residents of Lethit were forced to escape in September when fighting broke out between the junta forces and PDFs.

Due to fighting between the military regime and resistance forces in Tanintharyi Region following the military coup, more than 10,000 local residents fled to nearby forests and have not been able to return to their homes until now.
