There were casualties on both sides in a battle that broke out in Htamin Ma Sar village in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw Township on February 10, said the information officer of Myeik Battalion 1.

The clash took place when a coalition of local resistance forces attacked a junta outpost of more than 30 troops stationed at the school in Htamin Ma Sar village at around 6 am on that day.

Two junta soldiers were killed and five others injured in nearly 10-hour clash while four PDF comrades sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, the combined force of the PDF clashed with the regime troops who advanced towards Nat Eain Kan village around 9 am on February 11, and it is unknown whether there were any casualties or injuries.

There was a battle in Palaw’s To, Pitan and Myadaung villages on February 8 between junta troops and PDF joint forces, and two civilians were injured by the shrapnel of the mortar shell amid the fighting.

In Palaw Township, tensions between the junta army and resistance forces escalated in February, with frequent skirmishes.
