Myeik, July (6)

Three military personnel were killed and five others injured in an attack on a military gate stationed near Tonebyawgyi village in Tanintharyi Region’s Myeik Township, the spokesperson of Non-aligned Guerrilla Force told Than Lwin Times.

The allied resistance forces attacked the military gate where regime troops and junta-aligned militia members were stationed with light and heavy weapons around 12 p.m. on July 4.

The exchange of fire between the two sides took place for almost half an hour, and the allied forces were able to withdraw successfully without any harm, the source said.

The regime troops fired artillery shells, but there were no injuries, deaths, or damage to local homes.

The military gate was jointly attacked by the Non-aligned Guerrilla Force, the 2nd Battalion of Myeik District, and the Myeik People’s Defense Force.
