A passenger bus was attacked on Thanbyuzayet-Ye road near Lainmaw Chan village in Mon State’s Ye Township around 6 a.m. on 24 August, injuring two people, locals told Than Lwin Times.

The Shwe Pale Thi passenger bus carrying 33 people from Yangon to Myeik was shot at near Lainmaw Chan village.

Bullets struck the bus’s glass window, shattering it, injuring 26-year-old Ma War War Win and 34-year-old Ko Tin Htwe, who were on the bus.

It is reported that after emergency treatment was given to the two passengers who suffered non-critical injuries, the car continued to Myeik.

Both junta army and the combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) / People’s Defense Forces (PDF) are also active in the vicinity of Lianmaw Chan village where the shooting took place.

On 28 June, an armed group fired at a military vehicle on the Ye-Than byuzayet road near Kalawtgyi village in Ye Township, and a civilian car was hit by an armed group, injuring three people.
