Kyaukkyi, 30 August
Four children, including a four-year-old child, were injured when the junta army fired heavy weapons into Kyaukkyi Town in KNU-controlled Nyaunglaybin District, reported the Karen National Union (KNU).
On August 27th, around 7:00 a.m., a 4-year-old child and three women were injured.
As the Infantry Battalion 264 fired four mortar shells into Kanyin Kyo village, Kyaukkyi Town, around 7 a.m. on 27 August, injuring a four-year-old child and three women,
According to the statement, five houses of local people in Kanyin Kyo Inn village were also damaged in junta shelling.
The junta army is targeting civilians and is carrying out artillery shelling into the villages almost every day, killing or injuring civilians and destroying many homes and buildings.
On August 25, junta shelling injured four people from villages in KNU’s Mone, Shwe Kyin, and Kyaukkyi Townships and damaged seven houses.
Local villagers were forced to flee to safety as the Junta troops continued to fire heavy weapons into the villages in KNU Brigade 3, Nyaunglaybin District.
According to the Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG), the villagers face numerous obstacles, including access to food and medical attention.
