An ambulance was shot when the junta army and the combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) on Yangon-Mawlamyine road near Win Ka Pyan village in Mon State’s Belin Township, according to locals.

On August 29, a five-vehicle military convoy traveling from Kyaikto to Thaton was ambushed by the combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), and a gunfight erupted.

The ambulance of the Taung Tan Mytta rescue team was shot in the crossfire between the two sides, injuring 45-year-old patient Daw Shwe Sin.

It has been reported that Daw Shwe Sin, who was injured, is being treated at the Thaton District Public Hospital.

One member of regime forces was wounded in the attack on the military convoy, and the rear wheel of the military vehicle was punctured, said locals.

The travelers reported that the junta forces, who were ambushed, opened fire recklessly along the Yangon-Mawlamyine road.

On August 24, a passenger vehicle was shot at on the Thanbyuzayet-Ye road in Lain Maw Chan village, Ye Township, and two passengers were injured.
