Man injured by landmine in Kyaikto

A man was injured by a landmine explosion in Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, Mon State around 8:00 a.m. on 31 August, locals told Than Lwin Times.

When two local men from Kanyin Chaung went into the jungle to harvest bamboo shoots, Ko Aung San Oo, 30, stepped on a landmine.

The right leg of Ko Aung San Oo was almost cut, and his left leg was also injured.

Both junta army and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) / allied PDF forces are active in Kanyin  Chaung village.

On July 12, 12-year-old Maung Aye Chan Thakhin, a herdsman, died on the spot after being hit by a landmine between War Dak Kwin and Nyin Ai villages in Kyaikto Township,
