Mawlamyine, 3 November
U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister for Human Rights of the National Unity Government, Deputy Minister U Aung Kyaw Moe and presidential adviser and spokesperson U Kyaw Zaw met with Canadian foreign minister and its officials.
At the meeting, they discussed the current situations in Myanmar, the implementation of the ASEAN Five Points Consensus and the topics such as imposing more effective sanctions against the Myanmar’s ruling military.
Canadian Deputy Minister Morrison said that Canada is a friendly country of Myanmar, and is working to assist Myanmar, while they are looking for ways to help more effectively.
The NUG delegation called for the collaborative action of countries which support Myanmar revolution, with imposing more stronger and effective sanctions.
In addition, NUG also urged to provide the necessary technical assistance and support in administration and law enforcement.
The delegation also said that the Canadian government should make an all-out effort to bring justice to people of Myanmar who have been subjected to human rights violations, and support the NUG’s efforts to prosecute the military junta internationally.
NUG delegation held discussions at the bicameral parliament of Canada, and met with the Myanmar community in Canada.
