Kyaikmaraw, 18 November

Two children were wounded when an artillery fired by regime troops exploded in Mee Thway Kon village in Mon State’s Kyaikmaraw Township, said locals.

The Mudon-based junta artillery shelled Kyaikmaraw after its Southeastern Command was attacked by revolutionary forces’ drones around 6 p.m. on 16 November.

The explosions occurred in Chaunghnakhwa, Mee Thway Kon, Thayetkon, and Pawlaw villages, injuring two children.

Fighting continues in Chaunghnakhwa and Taung Kalay villages until November 17 November, with the junta firing heavy weapons all day.

Than Lwin Times is still investigating the current situation and whether there has been any damage to buildings or civilian deaths as a result of the military council’s mortar shelling.

On November 12, the military regime’s aerial assault killed seven-year-old Ma Hnin Thet Wai and eight-year-old Ma San Yati Oo from Palaw village.

At least 30 houses were damaged, and more than 4,000 residents fled their homes during the fighting that started on November 10 in Kyaikmaraw.

The displaced people are in desperate need of food and medical supplies, said the rescue workers.
