Myeik, 5 December

A military convoy carrying weapons and ammunition and junta bases in Myeik and Tanintharyi were attacked, resulting in some casualties, reported the Myei District Battalion 2.

A military convoy of three vehicles was hit by landmines planted by a combined column of the People’s Defense Forces around 5 a.m. on 2 December.  

According to the statement, the details of the injuries or deaths of the junta soldiers during the mine attack are not yet known.

Meanwhile, the resistance forces launched an attack on Ton Byaw Gyi camp in Myei around 2 p.m. on the same day.

The attack triggered a 30-minute-long battle, killing three regime troops and injured five others, and three comrades of PDF column 1 sustained injuries, an official of the Non-aligned Guerilla Force told Than Lwin Times.

A house in Kintat village in Ton Byaw Gyi village tract was destroyed after being hit by junta shelling.

The mission was carried out by the joint forces of Myeik District Battalion 2’s company 1, Non-aligned Guerilla Force, Southern Warriors Defence Force (SWDF), and Myeik-PDF.

According to the military situation in Tanintharyi Township, the resistance forces have urged the local people to be vigilant.

Two attacks on a military convoy were reported on Myeik-Tanintharyi Pyidaunsu Road in late November.
