Military forces arrested two more women after the Mawrawaddy naval base in Kan Pauk area in Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township was attacked, locals told Than Lwin Times.

The junta army arrived at No. 2 Hlekon Ward in Kan Pauk village tract in civilian cars around 2 p.m. on 21 December and detained Ma Maw Maw Shein and her elder sister Ma Naw Naw Shein.

The two local women were taken by the military council to the Mawrawaddy naval base, where they are currently being interrogated.

On December 18, Ma Thae Su Moe from Kan Pauk’s Magga Ward, Daw Than Than Soe from Hlegon No.1 Ward and U Thar Gyi and wife from Migyaungai Ward were taken into custody by regime forces.

According to local residents, all of them are being interrogated at the Mawrawaddy naval base, and their family members are not allowed to see them.

On December 15, the resistance joint forces dropped a bomb on Mawrawaddy naval base using a drone, reportedly killing some military personnel.

According to the report released by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), nearly 2,000 civilians have been arrested in Tanintharyi Region since the coup.
