The revolutionary forces’ attack on the suspension bridge between Mawkanin and Sanpya villages in Mon State’s Ye Township killed a member of the Border Guard Force (BGF) and a woman, according to locals.

On December 25, around 8 a.m., the resistance joint forces launched an attack on suspension bridge checkpoint where junta troops and BGF members were stationed.

The attack killed BGF member Saw Thiha on the spot and injured a woman vendor, Daw Yamin Thant.

It is reported that the injured local woman was transported from the Lamaing District Hospital by the social rescue team to the Mawlamyine Public Hospital for treatment.

Locals said that after the checkpoint was attacked, the regime troops are conducting strict checks on vehicles and motorcycles passing through the bridge and are arresting and examining suspects.

The revolutionary forces have not released any statement about the attack.

On December 24, revolutionary forces seized military items from Light Infantry Battalion 406 on Ye-Dawei road between Kamawkanin and Aungtharyar villages in Ye Township.

The anti-regime forces blocked No. 8 Pyidaunsu road in Ye every day for the control of the area while the junta army fired artillery shells.
