Mawlamyine, June (3)
The regime’s Ministry of Education confirmed that the military council welcomed CDM teachers from basic education schools to return to work, but just 50 CDM teachers have done so.
The regime’s Ministry of Education made the remarks at the 15th press conference held by the military council in Nay Pyi Taw on June 1.
According to the Ministry of Education, 50 CDM teachers who have returned to work have begun teaching with no wage cutbacks.
“The military council has invited CDM teachers to return to work, but I have no plans to do so and will fight until the revolution is successful,” according to a CDM teacher who spoke to Than Lwin Times.
As of May 31, more than 2,400 CDM teachers have been contacted to return to work, according to the military council.
Currently, the coup junta has delayed the deadline for CDM teachers to return to work until June 7.
The military council opened the schools on June 2 for the current academic year, and it is estimated that more than 5 million students enrolled in the schools.
