The Military Council has instructed the shops built next to the stadium in No.11 ward, Thanbyuzayat Township under the Township Sports and Physical Education Department to be removed within one month, the shop owners confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
According to the instruction released on September 6, the regime’s Township Department of Sports and Physical Education had to order the removal of the shops next to the stadium under the instruction of the head of state.
The shops built on leased land owned by the sports department must be moved by October 5.
A store owner said that he will file a petition with the military council and that if they are forced to remove them at a time when they are facing such a crisis, everyone may be in trouble.
There are at least 50 shops, including restaurants, tea shops, grocery stores, and cosmetic shops, built near the Thanbyuzayat stadium.
It is said that if the shops were to be removed during this time, hundreds of people, such as shop owners, vendors, and workers, would be unemployed, and it may cause many difficulties for their livelihood.
In addition, the the regime’s Wekli military unit ordered the removal of houses along the Yadana Shwe Phyu Golf Club in Thanbyuzayat township in the last few months.
