Loikaw, May (10)
The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) told Than Lwin Times that drugs were being seized in Karenni State during the military coup.
Drug trafficking was frequent throughout the state during the coup, with at least two cases every month.
The military regime’s action is to seduce young people into drugs without interest in revolution, the KNDF spokesperson said.
The drugs that were confiscated have been burned, and the Karenni police are taking legal action against drug dealers and smugglers.
In Karenni State, more than 150,000 yaba pills worth more than hundred million kyats were seized in January last year and more than 7,000 tablets in April, KNDF said.
