Taninthari, May (10)

Residents are concerned that conflict between the two sides would increase after members of the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) raided and set fire to the Directorate of Military Equipment’s camp in Nyaung Pin Kwin village, Tainintharyi Township.

The Southern Heroes Defense Force, Non-aligned Guerrilla Force and People’s Defense Army (Myeik District) Battalion 2 raided and set it on fire on the afternoon of May 8.

The locals were concerned that tensions might grow as the light infantry battalion (561) continued its operations, and resistance forces prepared for military action.

When the People’s Defense Forces raided the camp, there was no resistance from the junta troops and they fled to the light infantry battalion (561), about two miles from the camp.
