The military council has sentenced Mon State Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan to two more years in prison under Section 130 (a) for abuse of power in the election, according to sources close to the court.
Mon State Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan was charged under Section 130 (a) of the Penal Code for abuse of power in the 2020 general election.
On July 11, the military regime’s judge sentenced Dr. Aye Zan to two years in prison in Mawlamyine Township Court for the charges.
The Mon State Chief Minister, Dr. Aye Zan, aged 68, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on 11 charges by the military council following the coup.
Dr. Aye Zan was sentenced to a total of 23 years in prison, including 21 years on corruption charges on May 16, and two years for violating Section 505 (b).
The Mon State Chief Minister, Dr. Aye Zan, is now being held at the Kyaikmaraw Central Prison by the junta.
