According to a report published by the Human Rights Foundation on MonLand, the military junta and its allies arrested and killed nearly 20 civilians in June in the southern regions of the Mon and Karen States as well as Tanintharyi Region.

According to the report, regime forces arrested and killed 19 civilians and arbitrarily detained 90 others in June.

The report said more than 3,300 people have been forced to flee their homes as a result of military operations and artillery fire.

Besides, twenty health workers were fired for pro-democracy activities in Mon State and Tanintharyi Region in June. There have also been arbitrary arrests of civilians without issuing arrest warrants.

The growing military-backed security forces in plainclothes have been using threatening tactics to extort money and belongings from civilians.

In addition, the report stated that the military council continued to commit warrantless raids, reckless shooting into civilian areas, and illegal arrests and detentions.
