Kyaikto, July (24)

More than 4,000 residents have been forced to flee because the regime forces fired indiscriminately into Kyaikto, the territory of Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 1.

The No. 103 artillery unit based in Theinzayat has been continuously firing into Winkan and Zeepyaung village tracts every night.

Due to the continuous heavy fire, the locals no longer dare to stay in the villages. They leave their workplaces and hide in the villages and forests.

An official from Thaton PDF told Than Lwin Times that the displaced people are in dire need of food, medicine supplies, and shelters.

Since the second week of July, there hasn’t been any fighting between junta armed forces and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA).
