The military troops arrested a man from Bonmaw ward in Taninintharyi Region’s Dawei Township and dumped his body on a road side a few hours later, the local sources told Than Lwin Times.
U Soe Myint, 50, was abducted by regime forces around 10 p.m. on August 4, and his body was later dumped near the Mawlamyine-Dawei Highway near Zahar village around 11 p.m.
A resident said that the body of the victim killed by the junta had a single gunshot wound and bruises from being beaten.
The social rescue group reported that the body had been returned home after being taken to Dawei Hospital on the morning of August 5.
The deceased, U Soe Myint, was arrested by the military council at his home in Bonmaw ward, Dawei Township, about two months ago, and was released recently.
The military council shot and killed U Thaung Win, over 60, and his wife, Daw Win Aye, from Kadek Gyi village in Launglon Township, as well as U San Win, over 50, from Gawinn village, in front of their house in June.
More than 200 individuals were detained and killed by the military council in Tanintharyi more than a year and a half after the military coup, according to the Southern Monitor.
