Demoso, August (28)

The displaced children living in the two evacuation camps in the eastern part of Demoso, Karenni State, are infected with skin diseases, according to the doctors who help the refugees.

Due to the lack of clean water and inadequate shelter in the refugee camps, not only children but also some adults are suffering from skin diseases.

“This disease is caused by a virus. If you eat to strengthen your immune system and stay clean, there is nothing to worry about,” a doctor said.

If the virus causes sores in the children who are infected, there may be cause for concern.

This virus is very contagious and common in 7- and 8-year-old children.

The virus that is causing the outbreak in the refugee camps has been developing gradually from the blisters, and the details of the outbreak are still unknown.

Than Lwin Times continues to investigate whether there are similar outbreaks in other refugee camps.

After the coup, fighting has continued in Karenni State almost every day, and more than 200,000 people have abandoned their homes and are now living in the jungles.
