Yangon, September (9)

Political and military observers have condemned military leader General Min Aung Hlaing’s claim that ” Myanmar’s situation is under control” as a lie at a time when the regime has battled with issues of military, administration, and territorial control.

The military leader, who is attending the 77th Far East Economic Forum-2022 in Vladivostok, Russia, lied in an interview with a Russian news agency that he had managed to control the Myanmar crisis.

The military leader said that since the Myanmar problem has been controlled, they are trying to hold a general election next year, and that the election will be held on their own without the interference of foreign countries, and that people will vote freely.

“The military council is losing a lot of soldiers, and the troops from the army camps in various townships don’t dare go out. They are no longer able to run the administration body properly. In this situation, the military leader’s statement that ‘Myanmar’s situation is under control’ is just a lie and he is just paving the way to forcefully hold election,” political and military observer U Than Soe Naing said.

The Acting President, Duwa Lashi La, said on September 7 that after one year of the defensive war, they can take control of many areas, while the military council could not govern well even half of the country’s territory,

Dr. Sai Kyi Zin Soe, a political researcher, noted that in the current situation, the military leader, General Min Aung Hlaing, does not seem to take into consideration that the election should not be held.

The Special Advisory Council on Myanmar (SAC-M), has released a detailed report declaring that the military regime no longer has control over all areas of Myanmar, despite the military leader’s assertions that the situation is under control.

The report claims that the rate at which the military council is relinquishing control of the region is increasing and that the democratic revolution forces are in charge of the regions where the military council does not have authority.

The National Unity Government (NUG) has said that next year will be a crucial year and that the decisive battle to eradicate the regime will come sooner or later.
