Yebyu, September (10)
A 60-year-old U Kyi Soe, a staunch NLD supporter, was shot dead in Leshaung village in Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township around 7 pm on September 8, the local residents told Than Lwin Times.
Two unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle approached U Kyi Soe taking a bath at his well and fired two shots into his head, killing him on the spot.

“When he was bathing at the well near the house, two men covering black clothes on their faces rushed in and shot him in the head with a gun, and they fled. When the family went to check on U Kyi Soe, he has passed away,” a local said.
The locals speculated that U Kyi Soe was killed by members of the Pyu Saw Htee militia.
U Kyi Soe was released after being arrested by the military council in early 2022.
Southern Monitor, a research group, reported that more than 240 civilians have been killed in Tanintharyi Region after the military coup.
