Three pagodas Town, September (29)

A combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) seized a junta’s Pagoda Hill camp near Three Pagodas Town in KNUN-controlled Brigade 6.

On September 28, KNLA joint forces began raiding the military outpost at 6:00 am, and captured the entire camp at 9:00 am.

At least nine junta members were killed and 11 weapons were confiscated during the capture of the camp, KNU spokesperson Pado Saw Taw Ni said.

He added that the junta’s camp has been causing trouble for the local people in various ways and is always carrying out intimidation.

Residents said that the military council, based in Three Pagodas town, fired heavy weapons from the Nagar Hill during the raid, and conducted aerial reconnaissance yesterday afternoon.

The attack on Pagoda Hill camp came eight days after the KNLA joint group captured the Kyeik outpost, which is a base camp of the military council in the territory of the 6th brigade of the KNU-Doopalaya district, on September 20.
