Ye, October (1)
The three policemen, including the police station officer, were assassinated near Kabyargyi village in Mon State’s Ye Township around 10:30 am on September 30, the Ye Balu, the resistance force, told Than Lwin Times.
The Ye Balu killed three police officers, including the chief of the Khawzar police station, as they drove to Ye town from the Khawzar police station to collect their salaries.
A total of three policemen – a police station head, a police sergeant and a policeman – died on the spot in the shooting attack.
An official of the Ye Balu group said that they waited in advance and attacked after they had received information that the Khawzar police station officer and his team would come to Ye town to collect their salaries.
After the attack, the resistance force confiscated three guns, five boxes of ammo, a handcuff, a phone, 80 bulltes, and some office documents.
According to local residents, the deceased police station officer had recently moved to the Khawzar and proclaimed that he had moved because he was not afraid of the rebels.
The Ye Balu group frequently attacked military personnel, staff from junta-controlled departments, and military informants in Ye Township.
