Court examines witnesses for Mon Chief Minister’s election case

The Kyaikmaraw court examined the witnesses at the trial on October 18 for abuse of electoral power filed by the coup council against Mon State Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan, the sources close to the matter told Than Lwin Times.

At this trial, the court examined the plaintiff, secretary of Mon State’s Sub-Election Commission, U Htin Kyaw, and his witness, U Hein Lin Htet.

Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan, who appeared in court, is in good health, and the next trial has been scheduled for October 28.

Mon State Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan pleaded not guilty for electoral case sued by military council.

Dr. Aye Zan was sentenced to 25 years in prison: 21 years for nine counts of

corruption, two years under section 505 (a) and another two years under section 130 (a) after the military coup.
