The regime forces who entered Aung Thayatchaung village in Tanintharyi Region’s Thayatchaung arbitrarily killed two civilians and detained nearly 20 others, the locals told Than Lwin Times.
A 100-strong junta force invaded Aung Thayatchaung village and ransacked the homes of villagers around 10 am On October 22.
During the raid, the regime forces shot and killed two men, leaving the bodies on the street.
Moreover, the military council is reported to have burned down two houses in Aung Thayatchaung village.
Currently, military personnel are stationed at a monastery in Aung Thayatchaung village, where they have detained nearly 20 villagers.
According to locals, almost all of the villagers are fleeing their homes because junta troops are stationed in Thayatchaung and are hunting down the residents.
The military council stormed the village after two military informants were shot dead in Aung Thayatchaung village on October 20.
