The Mon Revolution forces have warned the public to be cautious as operations to topple the military regime in Mon State will ramp up in the coming open season.
The clashes have recently intensified in Mon State’s Kyaikto, Belin, Thaton, Paung and Ye Township between junta forces and a combined forces of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and PDFs.
Naing Nagar, the spokesperson for the Mon State Defense Force (MSDF-South), told Than Lwin Times that they are preparing to join forces with other revolutionary forces in the coming open season to wage a battle in a hurry for the downfall of the military group.
Therefore, Naing Nagar warns the public to avoid going to religious ceremonies and other festivals and not to approach regime troops.
A member of the Mon State Revolutionary Organization (MSRO), Ko Digar also said that many military activities will be carried out and the people are encouraged to participate as much as they can.
The leader of the Ye Balu resistance group, based in Ye Township, urged the public to avoid going to events and festivals because they will accelerate military operations during the open season.
Ko Aye Min Tun from Thaton District People’s Defense Force told the people to stay away from the regime forces as the fighting between the two sides could intensify in the coming season.
At least 30 revolutionary forces are fighting with the military regime in Mon State, and they are eliminating the military council’s stooges, such as departmental offices, checkpoints, police stations, and soldiers.
The National Unity Government (NUG) has determined to shift from defensive to offensive in 2023, opening six fronts from all sides, including political, military, economic, and international issues, to ensure the success of the revolution.
