Two civilians injured in reckless shooting of junta forces after being hit by landmines in Launglon

On the morning of November, the junta forces hit the landmines near Hteintwin village and Khamaung Mountain and opened fire recklessly on the surrounding area, injuring two civilians, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The local People’s Defense Forces attacked a military vehicle carrying about 16 troops returning from patrol near Hteintwin village and Khamaung Mountain around 10:30 pm on the 5th of November.

Following the attack, regime troops opened fire, hitting a woman and a man riding a motorcycle from Yebyu Township.

An official of the People’s Defense Forces said that at least five members of the junta forces may have been killed in the mine explosion.

The junta forces hit by landmines were taken to Dawei Hospital by ambulance.

After the attack, the military council has reinforced its troops, and the local people are worried that there will be clashes with the local resistance forces.

Following the military takeover, Tanintharyi has seen frequent clashes between the regime army and the People’s Defense Forces.
