The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the military regime have been fighting on a daily basis in KNU Brigade 5 in Hpapun District, and some casualties have been reported in recent fighting, according to the Brigade 5.
The KNLA Brigade 5 ambushed the junta camp, Htawmu Palaemae, stationed at Lemupalaw village in the KNU’s Luthhaw town around 9 on December 12 and destroyed two tents.
Meanwhile, after 8 am on the same day, there was a clash between junta forces and KNU Brigade 5 at the bottom of Bawlu Mountain beside the bank of Belin creek in Dwelow Town, resulting in the death of one military personnel and injuries to another, but no injuries on the KNLA side.
Moreover, around 9:30 am on December 11, the KNLA Brigade 5 launched an attack on regime forces of Sinswe base who were providing security Hpapun-Kamamaung route, and it is unknown if there were losses on the junta side, but there were no injuries on the KNLA side.
On December 10 and 11, junta forces from the bases at Taung Thone Lone, Sinswe and Mahtaw villages opened fire on villages, but no one sustained injuries, the KNLA Brigade 5 reported.
