Karenni, Decmber (16)
The Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) will be reconstituted by holding a conference in early 2023, the council’s spokesperson, Khu Hte Bu, told Than Lwin Times.
The Karenni State Consultative Council, which will be reconstituted, aims to implement the administrative, legislative, and judicial aspects of Karenni State.
At the upcoming conference, the KSCC plans to select and organize people who can deeply participate in the revolution in order to further implement the interim measures that have already been established.
The council spokesperson said that the purpose of reorganizing the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) is to improve the situation, as the measures adopted in the past are only on paper and inconsistent with the situation on the ground.
On April 9, 2021, the Karenni State Consultative Council was formed with the participation of Karenni State’s 2020 MPs, political parties, ethnic armed resistance groups, civil society organizations, youth, women’s groups, and intellectuals.
The council includes political parties such as the Kayah State Democratic Party (KYSDP), the Kayan National Party (KNP), and the National League for Democracy (NLD), as well as five ethnic armed resistance groups and the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) which emerged after the coup.
However, the NLD and the Kayan National Party (KNP) submitted their resignations two months ago because it was no longer possible for them to continue participating.
In less than a year, the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) established the committees for CDMers, health, education, finance, humanitarian aid, taxation, international relations, and security and defense sectors.
